Exactly in the area of the data transfer of valley and mountain station TEUFELBERGER entered with Stressless® DATA, a track rope with integrated fibre optic cable, a new era of steel wire ropes for ropeways.
TEUFELBERGER Technologies
LO-STRETCH®
The lubricated fiber core is covered with a compact synthetic coating and the strands are pressed into the plastic coat in the spinning process. The processing of the core is done in a cold working process for optimal and consistent application and therefore unvarying quality. As the sole manufacturer of ropeway ropes TEUFELBERGER closes all LO-STRETCH® ropes with support of strands between the strands. The possibility of strands touching, which would invariably lead to wire fractures and high abrasion levels, is eliminated with the use of these elastic inserts.
SUPERFILL®
Each strand of the rope is compacted by means of a special process, translating into a substantial improvement of the properties of the rope:
- Reduction of internal stress: wires can stand higher operational stress, resulting in longer service life.
- Smoother surface and smaller specific load means less abrasion on the rope and less wear of the rope pulleys.
- Increased metallic rope cross-section: up to 10% higher breaking force than conventional ropes allow the use of smaller rope diameter.
- Laminar contact of wires: less internal wear and longer service life.
- Laminar contact of rope and grips: increased stability against lateral pressure and decreased laminar pressure of rope and grip for a longer service life of wires.
STRESSLESS®
Stressless® is based on the principle of guide bearing, which has been proven for decades to be the ideal method of wire preforming. During the guide slide procedure the profile wires are brought to the closing point in a special method which best protects the surface. Due to the detailed constructive explanation together with the most modern production methods, Stressless® ropes remain spin-resistant to the greatest possible extent even during tensile stresses.
